2016 is a promising start for JAMA; We were honored to have Mr. Jeffrey Thomsonpresident and CEO of IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) visit Amman – Jordan and host JAMA’s January events.
On January 28, 2016, Mr. Jeffrey Thomson hosted CFO Round table discussion meeting that was sponsored by Morgan International. The meeting took place in Grand Hyatt Hotel where 25 CFOs of Large corporations in Amman from various industries including banking, pharmaceutical, telecommunication and hospitality sectors met to discuss how to Enable, Create and Measure innovation in their corporations.
Mr. Jeffrey also patronized the Kickoff event, organized by JAMA and held on the evening of January 28, 2016 in Grand Hyatt Hotel. The event was sponsored by Orange Jordan with the attendance of around 100 IMA members.
JAMA is IMA Jordan Chapter and is a non profit organization that works on delivering programs to update and upgrade the standards of accountants in Jordan.
Mr. Jamal Abdul Jalil, JAMA President explained JAMA 2016 plan to the attendees, followed by Mr. Ammar Khayyat, Nibras CEO and one of JAMA founders and Board members who talked about E – Learning. During the event, Mr. Thomson talked about Big Data and participated in the honoring of Jordanians who passed their exams in 2015 and became Certified Management Accountants CMAs.
It is worth noting that since 2010, JAMA, the IMA Jordan Chapter has been working on updating and improving Accounting professionals’ technical and soft skills, exchanging ideas for career developing and offering scholarships on CMA courses sponsored by Morgan International.
